Nepal is not unknown to us. When we hear stories about Nepal, we learn about the brave Sherpas - famous mountaineers, the Gurkhas - excellent warriors, Mount Everest - the world's highest mountain peak, and the magnificent Himalayas. Our team's connection to this country extends beyond this! We've met warm, friendly, and welcoming Nepalese in our global ministry (both online and offline), and when God opened the door for us to minister on Nepali soil - in the cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara - we were overjoyed!
The Team
On October 16, 2022, our five-person team arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal. It was made up of full-time Kingdom workers, a homemaker, a 10 years-old budding evangelist, and a one-year-old baby girl. Everyone is called to spread the good news. Age is not an obstacle. And this team illustrates that.
The Glory Conference
During the Glory Conference in Kathmandu, the entire team shared and ministered to the congregation. The conference drew over 1,600 people. Many people were healed and delivered.
We'd witnessed The Holy Spirit move powerfully as Evangelist Danston ministered to the congregation. A boy who was deaf and mute experienced complete healing.
Jericho shared the gospel on Day 3 and Day 4 - Sana led two sisters to the Lord. They'd come to the restaurant next to the conference center. What a divine appointment!
Zion trained the participants on Intercession. She led them into a time of intercession for Revival in Nepal.
Ministry in Pokhara
Day 5 - Day 8 was spent in Pokhara where we met Pastor Rupesh, his family, and his team.
In Pokhara, we:
Provided training on Evangelism, Intercession, and the Gifts of The Holy Spirit.
Laid hands and commissioned disciples for the great harvest
Encouraged and edified the leadership team
Baptized 9 believers
Discussed and planned for our training school in Nepal The following are snapshots of the glorious happenings from those days.
Baptism: 9 people were baptized.
Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile".
We are to share the gospel anytime with anyone we meet. Evangelist Danston did just that as he shared the gospel with a boatwoman we met along the way.
During this mission trip, we were able to assist in preparing the next generation to take up the great commission. Jericho was taught the practice of laying hands, allowing him to witness God's touch on people.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 says, "For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
The Lord was faithful to His servants. We had numerous opportunities to witness Christ during this trip. On our final day, Evangelist Danston John was interviewed by a Christian YouTube channel in Nepal.
We are truly grateful to God for everything He has provided, everything He has enabled, and prepared for the success of all our endeavors for His glory. We are also thankful to all those who have supported us through their prayers and their gifts.
As we say goodbye to the people of Nepal, we leave with the assurance that every soul we met has experienced Jesus Christ's love in some way and that The Holy Spirit will continue to minister and invest in the hearts of His people. We will return to Nepal soon to continue what The Lord has begun through the team.
